Kaur and her girls outclassed the Proteas by 52 runs and brought the moment which India women's cricket team were waiting for decades. Opener Shafali Verma emerged as the star of the contest, becoming the player of the match (POTM) for her stunning 87 off 78 apart from a couple of key wickets with the ball. Deepti Sharma can be called the unsung hero of the contest as she chipped in with her run-a-ball 58 and 5/39 figures.
Harmanpreet collected the distinguished trophy from ICC Chairman Jay Shah. Before taking the silverware towards her teammates, she was seen imitating legend MS Dhoni's trophy celebration. She went towards her colleagues with the trophy but backtracked with it twice before joining the pack and lifted it in style. Eventually, she was among her teammates and also lifted up the trophy. Indiaplayers were also seen celebrating in a unique way as they were seen posing for the camera while biting their medals.

Deepti Sharma became the player of the tournament in World Cup
Deepti Sharma became the recipient of the player of the tournament award after the conclusion of the World Cup. With 22 wickets in nine games at an economy of 5.52, she concluded the competition as the highest wicket-taker. Donning the role of batter, she racked up 215 runs with three fifties in seven innings of nine matches.
Deepti also broke into record books as the bowler with most wickets in a Women's Cricket World Cup installment. India have now become the fourth team to win the coveted World Cup trophy, following England, Australia, and New Zealand.
