Strengths
Netherlands have always done well in the ICC events and one of their biggest strengths in this event will be the presence of plenty of experienced players. They have retained most of their squad from the last WT20.
Weaknesses
They do not have depth in the bowling attack and on pitches that are very good for batting they may struggle to contain or bowl out the opposition.
X Factor
Logan Van Beek has been the X factor for the Dutch over the last few years. He plays for Wellington in the New Zealand domestic circuit and is coming into this tournament on the back of an excellent Super Smash T20 competition in New Zealand.
Preferred Playing XI
Michael Levitt, Max O’Dowd, Bas de Leede, Scott Edwards ©, Colin Ackermann, Kyle Klein, Logan van Beek,
Fred Klaassen, Roelof van der Merwe, Paul van Meekeren, Aryan Dutt.
Key Players to Watch
Bas de Leede – He is a quality all-rounder and has scored 729 runs while also picking up 39 wickets in 45 T20I matches. Roelof van der Merwe – The left arm spinner will be key in the middle overs. He has picked up 74 wickets in 67 T20I matches and can also be handy with the bat lower down the order.
T20 World Cup history Snapshot
Netherlands had one win in four matches at the 2024 WT20. They had sealed their qualification for this 2026 WT20 tournament via the Europe Qualifiers alongside Italy. This will be their seventh appearance at the tournament.
