On Saturday, November 1, the Indian men’s cricket team and coaching staff sent a special message to Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. ahead of their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2025 final against South Africa.
The grand finale will be played in just a day’s time at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where a new first-time world champion will be crowned in 50-over format after defending champions Australia were knocked out by the co-hosts India in the semi-finals.
In the video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their official X account, men’s head coach Gautam Gambhir, who is a former World Cup winner, wished the Women in Blue “all the very best” for the grand finale. He said, “On behalf of the entire support and the Indian team, I want to wish the women's team all the very best. Enjoy the occasion, be fearless, don't be scared of making a mistake. You've already made the entire country proud.”

ICC Women's CWC 2025 final will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai
While the Indian men’s cricket team has won two World Cups in the 50-over format, they lost the 2023 edition at home in the final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Following that, the Men in Blue have managed to win two straight ICC trophies and their words of encouragement could go a long way in helping the Women in Blue clinch the coveted World Cup title across formats for the first-time in their history.
The final of the ICC Women’s CWC 2025 will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2, where India will take on South Africa, who are also hungry for their first World Cup trophy across men’s and women’s senior cricket.
