Jorgen Strand Larsen, the Wolves striker, has agreed to sign a new contract with the club, which will keep him at the Molineux Stadium until 2030 with an option of extending stay for another year. The 25-year-old, who hails from Norway, had joined from Celta Vigo for £23 million in the recently concluded summer transfer window after impressing last season on loan, scoring 14 goals for Wolves in all competitions.
As per the report from BBC Sport, Wolves had rejected a couple of bids in the range of £50-55 million for Jorgen Strand Larsen in the summer, keeping him in the mix after the departure of forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United. In the ongoing season, he has scored twice for Wolves with both goals coming in the League Cup 3-2 win over
West Ham United at the Molineux Stadium in the second round, to secure a third round clash against Everton at home.
Jorgen Strand Larsen not just tactical and technical, he's about spirit and personality: Vitor Pereira
It will be important for Wolves to see him replicate his form from last season in the Premier League, to give themselves the best chance of staying up after losing the first four matches of the new English top flight season. Wolves manager Vitor Pereira said the following about the Norwegian’s new contract, “It's very important - if we want to increase our level, if we want to give others a step to another level, we need this kind of player.”
“He's (Jorgen Strand Larsen) not just tactical and technical, he's about spirit and personality. He is very important for us and it's very good news for us,” he added. This development has come just days after Vitor Pereira agreed a new three-year contract with Wolves, to keep on managing their first team despite a tough start to the Premier League 2025-26 season.
In their next match in the Premier League, Wolves are set to host Leeds United at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday, September 20, and a win could help them get off the foot of the table in 20th place.
