On Sunday, September 28, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hosted its 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was headlined by the appointment of new BCCI President Mithun Manhas
taking over the role from Roger Binny, who stepped down after turning 70 years of age in July 2025. The AGM also saw the BCCI make several calls around the appointment of key positions which were vacant for long now.Amidst this, the BCCI confirmed the appointment of former India cricketers Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh, both of whom have joined the men’s national team selection committee. They will join former India pacer and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das and Ajay Ratra in the men’s selection committee.
Amita Sharma named Chairperson of Women’s Selection Committee
Furthermore, the women’s selection committee
too has seen massive changes with only person retaining her place in Shyama Dey. Delhi’s Amita Sharma has been appointed as the Chairperson of the women’s selection committee, Mumbai’s Sulakshana Naik and Hyderabad’s Shravanti Naidu have joined her in the committee.
On the other hand, S Sharath, who was a part of the senior panel since 2023, has now become the Chairman of the junior selection panel. S Sharath will join Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohana and Ranadeb Bose in the Junior Cricket Committee.
