The Asia Cup 2025 has been an action packed entertainer with teams putting their best foot forward to go deep into the tournament. As the tournament is nearing its final stages, one team which has completely dominated the tournament so far is the Indian cricket team. India are currently unbeaten in the series and are the first team to reach the finals of Asia’s biggest tournament.
It will be one of India’s neighbouring countries Pakistan or Bangladesh who will be facing India in the final depending on the outcome of the clash between the two tonight. Speaking about the Pakistan national team, they were defeated by India two out of two times in the tournament as India annihilated Pakistan in both of these matches leading to a convincing victory.
However, things did not go on well between both the sides following the first match after the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav made political remarks in the post-match presentation and press conference.
ICC might launch a probe against Surya Kumar Yadav regarding this matter: Reports
The Indian skipper dedicated the victory to the families of the victims of the Pahalgam attack and stated that, “Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity... Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery.” The Pakistan cricket board decided to file a complaint against SKY on the grounds of him making political remarks in sports which is not allowed as per the code of conduct. ICC might launch a probe against Surya Kumar Yadav regarding the same.
According to reports, match referee Richie Richardson reviewed the complaint lodged by PCB and upon reviewing he feels that the remarks made by the captain tarnish the image of the sport and that he should be charged for it. As India prepare for the final, it will be interesting to see if further action will be taken against the Indian captain regarding his comments.
