Veteran Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal might be off the cricket field in recent present, he continues to be in news after his marriage took an abrupt turn earlier this. After tying a knot with choreographer Dhanashree Verma in late 2020, they finally ended it in March this year, officially getting divorced after staying apart for a considerable time. But the duo have been in news since then as their statements have given birth to new chapters.
In a the latest move, Indian spinner’s comments sparked a new wave on the internet which came after the Delhi High Court ruled that permanent alimony cannot be awarded to a spouse who is financially self-sufficient. Notably, a division bench of Justices Anil Kshetarpal and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar
finally announced the verdict which implied that a person seeking alimony to demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance.

Seeing this, veteran spinner could not hold back and took to Instagram story while writing, “Maa kasam khao nahi paltoge iss decision seh” (Promise me you won’t go back on this decision). Although he deleted the story soon after, screenshots circulated widely, sparking debate among fans and followers. However, Chahal did not mention Dhanashree anywhere, but many speculated that the post was a veiled comment on his former wife.
Chahal’s dig comes contrasting to Dhanashree Verma’s comments when she was asked about alimony during her appearance on Rise and Fall. Speaking with Aditya Narayan, Dhanashree said, "Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual, that’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don’t even know you?"
