Having already bagged six Constructors titles in the top flight in motorracing and could do more in the times to come, Red Bull Racing on Tuesday, November 11 announced the date of their new liveries launch.
The Milton Keyenes-based outfit on Tuesday confirmed that they will reveal its 2026 Formula 1 cars on January 15 in Detroit, Michigan, home of its new engine partner, Ford.
This marks the end of Red Bull’s partnership with Honda and the start of a new chapter with Ford. The Red Bull Ford Powertrains will power both the RB22 and the next Racing Bulls car. F1’s 2026 rules bring major engine changes, using about half fuel and half electric power. Red Bull’s new deal with Ford fits right in with this shift. “This is a big step into the future,” said Red Bull CEO Laurent Mekies. “It shows what can happen when great engineering, creativity, and teamwork come together. We’re excited to begin this new chapter with Ford,” he added.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen still in race for Drivers' Championship 2025 title
Laurent Mekies, it can be said with a certain clarity, has done a tremendous job with his new, if not so recent, F1 team; thinking Team Principal jumped ship from Racing Bulls to the Oracle Red Bull F1 team in the wake of Christian Horner's departure from the Milton Keynes-based outfit. But does that mean, Red Bull have since jumped in performance and form.
While McLaren haven't made life any easy for any of their rivals, the closest being Red Bull and Mercedes, the new triumvirate at the former comprising four-time world champion, Max Verstappen, new Team Principal Laurent Mekies and Helmut Marko have delivered successful wins and on successive notes in Formula 1. Bland praise? Anything but!
Before winning the US Grand Prix that takes place each year at COTA (Austin, Texas), a Max-led mad drive given its sheer win to dominate sent the F1 world into a tizzy thanks to great successes at Monza and then Baku, which were back-to-back victories for the team.
