There have been several speculations and rumours regarding the release and retention list ahead of IPL 2026 mini auction. Now, as per the latest report by the Cricbuzz, the possible window for the upcoming
auction is between December 13 to 15, 2025. The franchise officials have spoken to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) authorities regarding the possible window for the IPL auction.
However, there is no official confirmation from the BCCI regarding the final date for the IPL 2026 auction. There is also no information available about where the upcoming IPL auction will take place. The last two editions were held in Dubai (2023) and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2024) respectively. There are chances that the BCCI will hold this year’s mini-auction in India itself.
Franchises to submit their retention list by November 15
With the IPL 2026 mini auction likely to take place between December 13 to 15, all the franchises are supposed to submit their final list of retained players by November 15 as reported by Cricbuzz. However, the final dates for the retention and the auction are yet to be announced and the BCCI is likely to reveal the official schedule soon.
There have been different rumours regarding the trade deals and possible retentions ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction.
