The Australian Cricket Board has made a few changes in their squad for the upcoming T20I series against India at home. Both Australia and India will lock horns in the final ODI of a three-match series at Sydney
Cricket Ground on October 25. After that, both the teams are set to face each other for a five-match T20I series starting on October 29. Now, almost a week before the series against India, Australia announced some major changes in their T20Is squad as star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will be seen making his return for the final three matches of the series.
Glenn Maxwellwasn’t named in the initial T20I squad after he fractured his wrist during practice ahead of the series against New Zealand. Now, he has been declared fit and will be joining the Australia squad after the first two T20I matches against India. Along with Maxwell, Australia have also added Ben Dwarshuis and wicket-keeper Josh Phillipe in their T20I squad against India where Phillipe is available for all five matches while Dwarshuis will join the team for the fourth and the fifth match. 20-year-old Mahli Beardman also got his maiden international call for the India series and has been added in Australia’s T20I squad.
Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott to leave mid-series for Ashes preparation
With some additions in the squad, Australia have also given priority to their preparations for the upcoming Ashes series starting on November 21 down under. Star pacer Josh Hazlewood will be released from the squad after the first two matches while Sean Abbott is set to leave after the third T20I as the fast bowling duo will then fully prepare for the Ashes after that.
