On Monday, November 10, India’s national capital saw panic in the evening hours after a blast occurred near Delhi’s Red Fort. The incident took place sometime between 6-7 pm (IST), with several vehicles
catching first outside the Lal Quila metro station. At least eight were declared dead whereas several left injured and were referred to the LNJP Hospital.
However, this comes as a blow just months after the Pahalgam terror attack, which put everything in the country at standstill. While the concerned authorities have already launched investigation, all facilities in an around the venue have been put on high alert. Amidst this, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, which is currently hosting the Ranji Trophy matches has also been put on high security.

As a result, the security arrangements have been tightened in and around the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which is currently hosting Group D match between Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDC) Secretary Ashok Sharma told PTI, "Security to be beefed up near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium) on the final day of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Janmu & Kashmir. I would be getting in touch with Delhi Police authorities and request them to deploy additional security outside the stadium premises.”
Speaking of the ongoing match, having put 179 runs on the board for Jammu and Kashmir to chase, at stumps on Day 3, the Paras Dogra-led side just needed 124 runs to win with Qamran Iqbal (32*) and Vanshaj Sharma (0*) in the middle.
