With several reports coming regarding the trade ahead of theIPL 2026 auction, the latest report emerged that young Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan can be seen leaving Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the next
IPL season. As reported by Times of India, multiple franchises have approached SRH for trade deal for Ishan Kishan which include his former team and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI).
Along with MI, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals have also approached SRH to get Ishan Kishan in their squad via trade deal ahead of IPL 2026 mini-auction. Kishan was picked by SRH for INR 11.25 crore in the mega auction. He also got a great start to the IPL 2025 by smashing a hundred in the first match against Rajasthan Royals. However, he couldn't continue his form for the rest of the season as he ended up scoring 354 runs from 14 matches at an average of 35.40 and a strike rate of 152.58.
Ishan Kishan’s time at Mumbai Indians
With three teams showing their interest for Ishan Kishan, there are chances that the wicketkeeper-batter will be seen going back to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026. Kishan started his IPL career with Gujarat Lions in 2016. After two years, the wicketkeeper-batter was picked by MI ahead of IPL 2018. He spent seven years with the franchise and was also a part of two title winning campaigns in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
In these seven years, Ishan Kishan amassed 2,325 runs in 89 matches for MI at a strike rate of 137.95. His best IPL season came in 2020 where he scored 516 runs from 14 matches at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 145.76. It will be interesting to se whether Kishan will make his return in MI or not ahead of IPL 2026 auction.
