ILT20 will be back with its fourth season on December 2, with the opening game between reigning champions Dubai Capitals and Desert Vipers at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It will be the fourth season of the T20 league and the competition will be played from December 2nd to January 4th. 34 matches will be played during the event and they will be held across three venues Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. In the previous season, Capitals won the title under Sam Billings, who led the team in the absence of regular captain David Warner. Dubai beat Vipers by four wickets in the final.
Discussing ILT20’s history, it was launched in 2023 and Gulf Giants won the inaugural installment under England’s Jame Vince after beating Vipers in the final.
The second season saw the dominance of MI Emirates, who bagged the title while playing in Nicholas Pooran’s captaincy. MI hammered Dubai Capitals by 45 runs in the final and lifted the coveted trophy. After three seasons of the tournament, England’s Alex Hales is the leading run-scorer with 1156 runs in 35 matches at a strike rate of 144.13 while Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui is the leading wicket-taker in the league with 50 wickets in 29 matches at a frugal economy of 7.71.
