In match number 13 of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, the defending champions Australia Women will take on co-hosts India Women in one of the highly-anticipated games in the tournament. While the two
teams recently played each other in a three-match ODI series, the team from Down Under returned victorious by 2-1 margin.
However, both teams have had a good campaign so far, the Aussie Women are unbeaten whereas the Women in Blue are coming off a three-wicket defeat against South Africa Women. Although, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will eye to make a comeback with a win, the upcoming game offers a lot as they face a top, quality side, who also happens to be the most successful team in Women’s CWC.
I'd see her probably playing a really big role: Alyssa Healy confirms return of Sophie Molineux in XI vs IND-W
Speaking on the eve of the game in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, Australia captain Alyssa Healy was asked if Sophie Molineux will return to the side in the upcoming fixture. The Aussie captain confirmed that Molineux was available for selection, but refrained from revealing the XI-member squad. "I'd see her probably playing a really big role in particular more so against this opposition," Healy said.
"I think she's a really great match-up in that regard in these conditions. We'll wait and see how that plays out, but it is nice to have her available," Healy continued. It is to be noted that Molineux misses Australia’s game against Pakistan in Colombo as the side aims to manage her workload following a 10-month injury layoff. Moreover, seeing the spinners prove key against India Women, Molineux’s return will only add worries to the home side.
