The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is underway in India and Sri Lanka and the Women in Blue have their eyes set on the title glory. Coming into the marquee tournament after a going down 1-2 in the three-match ODI series against Australia Women, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side have had a mixed campaign thus far. While they registered comfortable wins over Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women, they were handed a drubbing against South Africa Women.
As they now set to face the defending champions on Sunday, October 12, the Indian camp were questioned about the left-arm spinners struggling in the tournament. This came after the Women in Blue were finding it tough against Inoka Ranaweera and Nashra Sandhu and were then troubled by South African spinner Nonkululeko
Mlaba and Chloe Tryon.
I don’t think it’s a big concern: Sneh Rana plays down struggles against left-arm spin ahead of Australia clash
Addressing the pre-match press conference, Sneh rana was questioned on the same to which she responded, “I don’t think it’s a big concern. Our batters have handled such situations well in the past, and ups and downs are part and parcel of the game. As you know, we have some of the best batters in the world on our side, and I’m confident they’ll bounce back strongly.”
Moreover, Rana also cleared that there are plans to counter the reigning champions, stating, “As you said, the World Cup is a completely different stage, and the pressure is unique. We’ve studied Australia’s style over the years — they’re aggressive — but our plans are very clear. We’ve had detailed discussions and made our strategies, and hopefully, we can make a positive start.”
