There have been plenty of elite managers who have been moving around of late or taking a break, but who are the best in the men’s game in Football? In this article we dive deep into who has been the best manager in Football this year.
The answer is undoubtedly Luis Enrique who is the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain( PSG).
As a coach, Luis Enrique will always be remembered for the incredible five trophies he delivered while in charge of Barcelona in 2015, but that year was also the last time he lifted the Champions League. Now as we come to the end of 2025 Enrique can reflect on another near-flawless campaign at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain, having delivered the club’s long-awaited first European title as part of a Treble with a relatively young squad.
Luis Enrique was the mastermind behind PSG’s success via his signature possession-heavy, fluid attacking football with constant overloads in wide areas forming the backbone of the team’s attacking dominance. Off the ball, PSG pressed aggressively in a 4-3-3 formation that regularly turned into a 3-2-5 in possession, suffocating opponents in their half with collective discipline and ferocious work rate. This historic year for PSG was not just a tactical vindication for Enrique, but a huge personal triumph for him. For long he was considered a great coach, but he was getting overlooked for the top jobs after leaving the Spain national team in December 2022 before landing at PSG in July 2023. With PSG he has shown why he is such an extraordinary tactician and an inspiring coach. 2025 was his year.
The domestic success always been there at PSG, but a continental title had eluded them until earlier this year was won. Under Enrique, PSG have won, Parisiens seized Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions, before finally lifting the UEFA Champions League. They defeated Inter Milan in hugely shocking 5-0 win, ensuring they became the first French side to win a continental treble. Those exploits saw Luis Enrique named the French Professional Footballers Association Ligue 1 Manager of the Year, and he also guided his charges to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
In the post Mbappe era for PSG, Luis Enrique’s managerial skills were put to the test as he was tasked with steering Paris Saint-Germain forward. Mbappe had joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 and Enrique had to find a way to succeed without the star player in the team. But he has done just that and wrapped up another Ligue 1 title in early April.
Enrique has somehow transformed PSG into a better team even without Mbappe and they are thriving domestically and in Europe. They are firing on all cylinders as they won a historic treble in the 2024/25 season and Enrique was responsible for much of that and he has proved his mettle and has by far been the best coach in 2025.
