On Tuesday, October 14, India registered a clean sweep over West Indies, extending their Test series win over the Caribbean side with a seven-wicket win in the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
With the conclusion of the home Test series, Indian cricket team will move their attention to the upcoming white-ball series against Australia , set to be played from October 19 till November 8 Down Under.
The tour consists of three ODIs, followed by five T20Is. While the series will commence with the three-match ODI series, the T20Is will be played from October 29 till November 8. But just days ahead of the series, the home team - Australia have been handed a massive setback. The Mitchell Marsh-led side will miss the services of Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis in the series opener.
Australia call in Matt Kuhnemann & Josh Philippe as Adam Zampa & Josh Inglis’ replacement respectively
While Zampa is set to miss the series opener in Perth due to family reasons, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis continues to recover from calf strain, which he sustained earlier. Notably, Inglis missed the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this month due to the same reason and Cricket Australia have called in Josh Philippe as his replacement, whereas Matthew Kuhnemann will be replacing Zampa.
With this, Philippe will feature in his first ODI since Australia’s tour of West Indies in 2021. Earlier, during Australia’s tour of New Zealand, Philippe was called in as Glenn Maxwell’s replacement. Moreover, he continues to be part of the side with Alex Carey missing the squad in order to play in South Australia’s round two Sheffield Shield match against Queensland.
Australia’s updated ODI squad for India series:
