Watch: Nepal fan cleans up Wankhede Stadium after match against England

While England wrapped up a win and two points in their opening encounter, Nepal earned a lot of respect.

After Nepal’s four run defeat to England, one of their fans did something that won everyone’s heart across the nation. This game will be remembered for something more than just England’s victory at the Wankhede stadium. A viral video made rounds on social media showing a Nepali fan cleaning the stands after his side’s heartbreaking defeat against the three lions.

The unidentified fan cleaned up the stands and removed all the disposal plastics and the placards and put them in a garbage bag. His video soon went viral and earned praise from netizens across the globe and some even compared this gesture to that of Japanese footballers at the FIFA World Cup.

“Pure class. This is what real sportsmanship and civic sense look like—no cameras, no applause-seeking, just responsibility. One person did what many ignore, and that’s why it stands out. Respect earned, not demanded,” wrote a user while praising the fan for his gesture on X (formerly twitter).

Another user wrote that respect has no borders. He added, “This is what true sportsmanship and citizenship look like. Respect has no borders — Nepali brother just showed the world how it’s done!” This match will be remembered for so many things like Nepal’s grit, England luck and most importantly for this one fan who went out of the way to do something extraordinary. No camera, no noise, just pure respect for the game.
