Netherlands have announced their squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup. Scott Edwards will continue to lead the side. This will be their seventh appearance at the T20 World Cup, having made their debut in the 2009 edition where they defeated hosts England. However, their best performing T20 World Cup was the 2022 edition in Australia, where they made it to the Super 12 stage and finished eighth overall with wins over South Africa and Zimbabwe and close matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. They will be keen to have another strong campaign.
The squad consists of some big names like Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Logan van Beek, among others. Netherlands secured qualification through the European qualifiers where they qualified
along with Italy. Netherlands have selected an experienced squad. Most players have already played in one or more World Cups.
Coach of Netherlands, Ryan Cook sounded confident about the chances of the team this time around “With experience in the past few World Cups, having played against all of the teams in our group recently and having exposure to the conditions in Sri Lanka and India, we are confident in our preparations over the past few months.” He said
Netherlands are in Group A with India, Pakistan, Namibia, and the United States, and they will start campaign will start against Pakistan on February 7 in Colombo. They also have a match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be an exciting time for the squad and with these tough challenges they will be keen to put up a good performance.
