In the high stakes match 20th of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2025, former England captain Heather Knight brought up her third Women’s One Day International (WODI) hundred against India at the Holkar
Stadium in Indore. The 34-year-old brought up the milestone moment in just 86 balls to put England in a strong position while setting up a total against a bolstered Indian bowling lineup in comparison to the last couple of their matches.
Heather Knight had hit 14 fours and one six in her enterprising innings on a very good batting pitch to get to the three-figure mark, showing the way to the English batters after a slow start from the openers in the powerplay. She shared a vital 113-run stand for the third wicket with England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt after the latter had joined her at the fall of Amy Jones’ wicket following her fifty at the top of the order for England.

The former England captain got run out in the 45th over of the innings after reaching 109 off just 91 with 15 fours and one six to her name. Following Heather Knight’s key dismissal with the score reading 249/4 in 44.3 overs, the English batting lineup lost their way a bit but still, they managed to get up to 288/8 in their allotted 50 overs, which could be more than a competitive total against co-hosts India.
Deepti Sharma registered her best bowling figures in the Women’s Cricket World Cup, conceding just 51 runs for her four wickets.
