On Sunday, September 21, the Indian cricket team once again showcased their dominating brand of cricket, beating Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash. Coming into the Super Four after three successive wins and finishing the group stage at the top of the points table, India continued their domination as they defeated their arch-rivals for the second time in just over a week.
Winning the toss and inviting Pakistan to bat first, the Men in Green scored 171 at the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, courtesy a 45-ball 58 from Sahibzada Farhan. In reply, the Indian openers in Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill powered the innings, stitching a 100-plus runs partnership for the first wicket, along with a key knock coming from Tilak
Varma.
While Abhishek made a 39-ball 74 which saw him hit 11 boundaries, Shubman Gill fell off Faheem Ashraf after scoring 47 off 28 deliveries. With a match-winning knock of 74, Abhishek Sharma was also awarded the Player of the Match award. While his on-field antics stole the spotlight, his reply after India’s victory also made a lasting impact. The batter took to social media, sharing snippets of India’s win with a caption reading, “You talk, we win.”
Shubman Gill’s drops four-word reply after India’s 6-wicket win vs PAK
After playing a crucial 47-run knock, Suryakumar Yadav’s deputy Shubman Gill also dropped a four-word reply. Taking to social media, the Indian opener emulated Abhishek Sharma’s words and wrote, “Game speaks, not words”. The reply came after the match saw several on-field altercations.
While India looks favourites to lift the title this time again as they sit comfortably at the top of the table in the Super Fours with one win and boosting of the net run rate of +0.689, they will next play Bangladesh on Wednesday, September 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
