Team Indiafast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has expressed intent to serve India in the two-match Tests series against the West Indies to be played next month. Shubman Gill and his men will host the Caribbean
side for the two Tests to be held in Ahmedabad and Delhi. India will look to whitewash the Windies side and strengthen their position on the World Test Championship 2025/27 points table. Currently, India are in the third spot on the tally with 28 points earned through two wins in five outings.
As BCCI is all set to announce Team India squad for upcoming series, The Indian Express has claimed thatJasprit Bumrah has confirmed his availability for the assignment against the Windies side. According to the renowned media house, India's assistant coach Ryan ten Dosechate has also said that the 31-year-old is highly likely to feature in the home series. “It is unlikely that Bumrah will be rested. He is set to play the West Indies Tests. We’ve got important matches coming up, and it’s good for him to keep playing and get more match time,” said ten Doeschate as quoted by The Indian Express.
Manav Suthar highly likely to get a maiden call-up
The Indian Express report has also asserted that left-arm spinner Manav Suthar might also get the opportunity in the upcoming series. Suthar was exceptional with the ball for India A on the first day of the second unofficial Test against Australia A. He bagged 5/93 figures in his 28-over spell.
Suthar, 23, serves Rajasthan in domestic cricket and he has played 55 domestic games so far. In First-Class matches, he has clinched 95 wickets in 41 innings of 23 outings. India, under Gill, looked confident against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. The team will look to carry their superb form ahead in the upcoming home series.
