After a couple of ducks in the initial two ODIs against Australia, Virat Kohli shone with his bat in the third game at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). In Team India’s nine-wicket win, Virat Kohli chipped
in with an 74* off 81. With veteran Rohit Sharma, he stitched an unbeaten 168-run stand for the second wicket off 179 balls. Virat’s knock along with that of Rohit gave relief to Team India supporters who want to see the pair serving the side in the Cricket World Cup 2027 to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
Besides his performance, Virat Kohlialso grabbed attention for an act which happened after the contest. Following the interview, when Kohli and Rohit were heading towards the dressing room, the former saw an Indian flag fallen on the floor. He picked up the flag and handed it to the spectator who it belonged to, winning hearts while showing respect to Indian tricolour.

Virat Kohli spoke on his equation with Rohit Sharma in Sydney
After the match, Virat also talked about his equation with Rohit Sharma. Appearing in the interview with Adam Gilchrist and Ravi Shastri, he said, “I think from early on, we've understood the situation well, that's what we've always done well (as a pair), we're probably the most experienced pair now.”
Kohli also reminisced about his old days when his pair with Rohit started solidifying for India. “Back in the day when we were young - we knew we could take the game away from them with big partnerships. I think it all started in 2013 (the home series against Australia), if we put up a big partnership, play around 20 overs, we know we'll go a long way in helping the team win and even the opposition realise it,” added Virat.
