Pakistan beat Australia by 22 runs in the first T20I match of the series at Lahore. But more than the match itself, there was one moment which captured the attention of the fans. It soon went viral on social media with fans unable to control their laughter. This incident happened when Adam Zampa was bowling to Babar Azam. The leg-spinner trapped the batter right in front and there was an appeal for leg before wicket. The on-field umpire Ahsan Raza ruled it not out and there was a review taken immediately by the Australian side. It was during the DRS review where the third umpire Nasir Hussain from Pakistan fumbled it. When the ball tracking showed up on screen it clearly showed pitching outside off, impact in line and wickets hitting. But the third umpire fumbled it and said
pitching outside leg.
Then he was soon corrected and told by the backroom staff that the batter is right hander. While this was happening Babar Azam already started walking back to the dressing room. But the third umpire still could not make a decision. The replays came in once again and this time he read it correctly calling it “pitching outside off, impact in line, wickets hitting’’ but instead of asking on field umpire Ahsan Raza to change his decision, the third umpire asked him to stay with his original decision of not out.
