Dominic Solanke, the England and Tottenham Hotspur striker, is currently out of action after undergoing an ankle surgery and there is no timetable set in regard to his return. The 28-year-old has played
just 49 minutes of competitive football for Tottenham Hotspur under their new manager Thomas Frank, who is not impressed with him and with that, it is understood that the club might sell him during the January transfer window.
As per the report published in Football Insider, Thomas Frank “doesn’t fancy” Dominic Solanke during his time at the Spurs training headquarters after he had a stellar last season under previous manager Ange Postecoglou. He played 45 matches across all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 16 goals before ending the season with the UEFA Europa League trophy, their first major triumph in the best part of two decades.
Dominic Solanke's last appearance for Tottenham Hotspur came during a 2-0 win over Manchester City
The ongoing 2025-26 season has been a nightmare of sorts for Dominic Solanke, suffering from a knee problem earlier before undergoing a surgery on the injured ankle recently. His last appearance for Tottenham Hotspur came during a 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on August 23 and after nine weekends of action, the club is in third place in the standings behind Arsenal and Bournemouth.
While the future of Dominic Solanke seems uncertain at Tottenham, it is expected that they will find it difficult to sign a new striker to replace him in the January transfer window. With that, it is likely that manager Thomas Frank will use the rest of the players in the squad to get the best out of them in the attacking third in the midst of a prolonged absence of Dominic Solanke due to injury.
