Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was presented before the ICC panel after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint against him after the clash of Asia Cup 2025India and Pakistan in September. Notably, India and Pakistan faced each other in the group stage where Men in Blue registered a dominant victory by seven wickets. After the match, Suryakumar Yadav showed solidarity for the families of victims of Pahalgam attack and dedicated the victory to the Indian armed forces.
"Perfect occasion, taking the time out - we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all, and we give them
more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile,” said Suryakumar in the post-match presentation. After that, the PCB filed a complaint against the Indian captain for making political comments on the cricket field.
ICC let Suryakumar off with a warning, decision on Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf to be taken soon
After PCB’s complaint, Suryakumar Yadav was presented before the ICC panel as reported by Abhishek Tripathi where the Aped Cricket Council let him go with a warning for not making any political comments on the field in future. Apart from Suryakumar, two of the Pakistani players Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf are also supposed to present before the ICC panel after the complaint by the BCCI.
The BCCI has filed a complaint against Rauf and Farhan for making provocative gestures when India and Pakistan locked horns in the Super 4s clash of Asia Cup 2025. During the match, Sahibzada Farhan did a ‘gun firing’ celebration after completing his fifty. After that, Haris Rauf did a gesture of an plane crash with his hands and also signalled 6-0 with his fingers.
