With the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 moving into its final leg, the second placed England Women will take on South Africa Women in the first semi-final on Wednesday, October 29, whereas the reigning
champions and table-toppers Australia Women will take on hosts India in the second semi-final at the DY Patil Sports Academy on Thursday, October 30.
But as the Harmanpreet Kaur-led India Women face a tough challenge in the knockouts, they have also been handed a massive blow with Pratika Rawal’s injury. It is to be noted that the Indian opener limped off the field during their washed-out game against Bangladesh Women in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, October 26. While the injury looked serious, it has now put serious concerns in Indian camp ahead of their semi-final.
Pratika Rawal doubtful for India’s CWC 2025 clash vs AUS-W
The incident occurred in the 21st over on Sunday while fielding at deep mid-wicket. While attempting to save the boundary, she twisted her ankle. "#TeamIndia all-rounder Pratika Rawal sustained an injury to her knee and ankle while fielding in the 1st innings against Bangladesh. The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring her progress," BCCI informed.
But reports citing RevSportz have informed that Rawal is set to be ruled out of the ongoing CWC 2025 owing to the severe ankle sprain with fracture. However, a confirmation on the same from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still awaited. Notably, the 25-year-old has been a standout player for India. She is the second highest run-getter in the tournament after Smriti Mandhana (365 runs), amassing 308 runs from six matches.
