The young talent has made it into India’s squads for the T20I series against Ireland and England, and he’s also been selected for the Asian Games in 2026. India kicks off the new T20 cycle with two matches in Belfast against Ireland, followed by a five-match series in England this July. Later in the year, Sooryavanshi will have another chance to shine on a big stage during the Asian Games.

 

If he gets the nod for the starting XI in the first T20I against Ireland, Sooryavanshi will make history. At just 15 years and 91 days old, he would become the youngest male cricketer to debut for India, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s long-held record of 16 years and 205 days from 1989. As a left-handed opener, he’s also likely to take the first strike if chosen.
