Aston Villa, who are currently on the 18th position on the table have had a terrible start to the Premier League campaign failing to win in any of the five matches they have played so far in the league.
Their disappointment continues as they were knocked out of the EFL Carabao Cup by Brentford FC last week.
There is a lot of pressure on the head coach Unai Emery to start delivering wins in order to keep his role safe and sound. Following the disastrous start to the season, Aston Villa have reportedly decided to part ways with their President of Football operations, Monchi who joined Villa in the year 2023 from the Spanish side Sevilla. The 57-year-old who had previously worked with Unai Emery at Sevilla was recruited by Villa to boost the overall strength of the squad and make critical decisions.
Aston Villa in search for a capable candidate to replace Monchi: Reports
According to latest developments it is still unclear if Aston Villa decided to fire Monchi or if the 57-year-old decided to quit the job himself. Emery and Monchi together have tried to reshape the club and made additions like Marco Bizot, Jadon Sancho, Victor Lindelof and Harvey Elliot coming into this season. However, none of the signings have been up to the mark so far in this season which might have led Aston Villa to make a decision like this.
Villa have been facing a lot of problems off the field as they were fined £9.5m by the European football governing body for allegedly breaching the rules of financial fair play. The board of Aston Villa will now be desperate to find a capable candidate to replace Monchi and further develop their project in order to bounce back from the tough times ongoing at the club and be more efficient in the near future.
