The Asia Cup 2025concluded with India’s domination as Suryakumar Yadav and his men justified their defending champions tag and retained the title with the five-wicket victory over Pakistan, in the final played in Dubai. Pursuing the target of 147, India saw themselves under massive trouble as they lost their top-order batters at a score of 20 in four overs. However, Tila Varma didn’t lose hope and took India home with an unbeaten knock of 69 off just 53. Wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube also made crucial contributions of 24 (21) and 33 (22) respectively. In the final over, when India required one off three, Rinku Singh played the winning stroke against Haris Rauf and completed the chase for the Men in Blue.

Suryakumar won the toss and opted to field first. Pakistan started the game confidently, riding on the 84-run opening partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman. The stand came in 58 balls and India saw themselves under pressure. However, the reigning champions made a superb comeback in the match and bundled out Pakistan on 146 in 19.1 overs. Kuldeep Yadav again caused a headache for Pakistan as the 30-year-old racked up 4/30 figures in his four-over spell.

India register record-extending ninth Asia Cup triumph
Throughout the tournament, India played like champions as they didn’t lose a single game. During the competition, India beat their arch-rivals Pakistan thrice. Kuldeep Yadav and Abhishek Sharma were key stalwarts for India as both delivered some superb match-winning moments to the team. The latest success marks India's ninth title victory in the Asia Cup.
Kuldeep concluded the competition as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, grabbing 17 scalps in seven contests at a frugal economy of 6.25. Discussing Abhishek’s performance, he notched up 314 runs with three fifties in seven outings and ended up as the leading run-scorer in the competition. The left-handed opener also became the Player of the Tournament.
