With the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 finally nearing its conclusion, the Indian cricket team will return home to begin their packed cricketing calendar. While the Men in Blue will host West Indies for two-match
Test series, which will be played from October 2 to 14, they will then travel to Australia for a white-ball series.
The limited-over series between Australia and India will commence from October 19 with three ODIs, followed by five-match T20I series, which will be played between October 29 to November 8. But ahead of the series, reports have made some shocking details.
Abhishek Sharma in contention to play for ODIs vs Australia: Reports
Reports in the TOI have stated that the southpaw has impressed with the bat in the shortest format and could be seen playing ODIs. With Rohit Sharma only active across ODIs but age also nearing him, the management is looking at Abhishek Sharma, who is yet to receive maiden ODI call-up.
This comes after the top ranked T20I batters is leading the run charts in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, having scored 173 runs including his 74-run knock which came against Pakistan in the Super Four. Moreover, with India set to play around 27 ODI matches before the World Cup, set to be played in 2027 across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, he comes out as a key batter in limited overs.
