During the pursuit of the 169-run target in the Super 4 clash of the Asia Cup 2025 against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh opener Saif Hassan batted exceptionally for his 61 off 45 with two fours and four sixes at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The innings from the young opening batter put Bangladesh on track in regards to chasing down the runs, but his innings didn’t end without a major skirmish on the field.
When Wanindu Hasaranga managed to get the wicket of Saif Hassan, the Sri Lankan leg spinner was hugely pumped up and he threw his hands in celebration aggressively on multiple occasions. Hassan apparently didn’t like the gesture from Hasaranga before he answered back, which can be interrupted by many as a fight between both the cricketers,
and now, it will be interesting to see whether they will address the situation after the match.
At the fall of Saif Hassan’s wicket, Bangladesh had got up to 114/3 in 14 overs, still needing a further 55 runs in six overs to win the match against Sri Lanka. As of this writing, Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain have put Bangladesh in a winning position, needing just 12 runs in the last couple of overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
