Wanindu Hasaranga showed an exceptional display of athleticism on the field in the ongoing Super 4s clash of the Asia Cup 2025 between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. While defending a target of 133 runs, Sri Lanka are slightly heading towards a comeback as they went on to take three quick wickets after a great start by the Pakistani openers.
Chasing the winning target,Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman put up an opening partnership of 45 runs in 5.3 overs. Maheesh Theekshan gave Sri Lanka the first breakthrough as he dismissed Farhan for 24 runs off 15 balls. In the same over, Theekshana got rid of Fakhar as well after Wanindu Hasaranga ended up taking a stunning one-handed catch inside the 30-yard circle.

after the dismissal of Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman attempted to go inside out on a fuller delivery by Maheesh Theekshana. However, the Pakistani ended up hitting the ball from the bottom of his bat towards mid-off. After that, Wanindu Hasaranga went towards his right and ended up taking a low catch with just one hand before the ball touched the ground. Before nine overs, Pakistan have lost four wickets so far while chasing a target of 134 runs.
Talking about Sri Lankan innings, Kamindu Mendis turned out to be a top scorer with 50 runs off 44 balls hitting three fours and two sixes. With the help of his knock, Sri Lanka were able to post 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs after a poor start. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took three wickets, Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat took two wickets each while Abrar Ahmed put one in his bag.
