In the fourth T20I between New Zealand and India at Vizag the crowd witnessed some special hitting from Shivam Dube. New Zealand set a target of 216 and India were in all sorts of trouble having lost four wickets
for 73 runs. He started off with a boundary and kept going. Shivam Dube walked in at a tricky stage and went all guns blazing to smash his way to a 15-ball fifty. Shivam Dube hit Jacob Duffy for a six over deep backward square-leg off a full toss to complete his half-century of just 15 balls. Watch the celebration here:
In the 12th over of the chase Shivam Dube smashed three sixes and two fours to Ish Sodhi as India made a comeback. 29 runs came off an Ish Sodhi over where Dube hit 28 and one was a wide. Out of his first 54 runs, 49 of those runs came on the leg-side showing his preferred area. He completed his half century in just 15 balls which is the third fastest by an Indian in T20Is. Abhishek Sharma and Yuvraj Singh are the only players to score faster than him. Dube has conceded the most runs in single over against New Zealand when he gave away 34 runs in a match in 2020 and today he scored the most runs by an Indian batter in a single against New Zealand.

Shivam Dube was unfortunately run-out at the non Strikers end as he departed for 65 runs of just 23 balls. His innings included three fours and seven sixes. This is also his highest score in T20Is. It was a lone warrior knock and it was some of the most enjoyable batting to watch as the crowd in Vizag were treated to a spectacle. India lost the match by 50 runs but still are leading the series 3-1 with the final match set to be played at Thiruvanthapuram on 31st January.
