One of the rarest moments on the cricket field took place during the sixth match of 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cu p between India Women and Pakistan Women at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In a big clash,
Pakistan Women won the toss and opted to bowl. While batting first, India Women were at 154/4 at 34 overs before the play was halted due to a large amount of bugs having entered the ground affecting the game.
To resolve the issue, the staff rushed towards the field along with some equipment for the pest control. Due to this, the players had to leave the ground for some time as the staff was putting bug spray over the ground. After a little break, the players finally returned to the ground after the pest control was completed.
India bowled out for 247 runs in 50 overs
Talking about the match, it hasn’t been a pleasant outing for India Women with the bat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup clash against Pakistan Women. Batting first, the Women in Blue were looking to have a good start as Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal added 48 runs for the first wicket in nine wickets. Mandhana got out after scoring 23(32) runs hitting four boundaries while Rawal scored 31 runs off 37 balls hitting five fours.
After the partnership was broken, India Women kept losing wickets at regular intervals and are struggling to get a big total.
