Orangutan recently won the BMSD 2025 and secured a direct slot for the PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Stage. The upcoming BMIC 2025 also offers two PMGC slots, but the big question remains, what happens if Orangutan wins again? The allocation for this scenario hasn’t been defined yet.
If a South Korean or Japanese team wins the BMIC and already has a PMGC slot, their extra slot will go to the next-best team from their region based on PMGC qualification points. However, if Orangutan wins BMIC 2025, it’s still unclear whether the extra slot will be given to another Indian team or to the next best team in the competition.
We asked the question on the same scenario to Karan Pathak, Associate Director of Esports, and he said, “To make things easier for everyone,
we’ll soon share a post on Krafton India Esports explaining this scenario. There are around 15 possible combinations, so we’ll list them all clearly. It’s a bit complicated, so we plan to create both a post and a video to help everyone understand it better.”
So as of now, there is no clarity on what will happen if Orangutan wins the BMIC 2025. We advise gamers to wait for the official post from Krafton India Esports. Most probably, the extra slot will go to the Indian team only, as South Korean and Japanese extra slots are confirmed to go to their regional team.
BMIC 2025: Schedule, Format, and Teams
The BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2025 will take place from 31 October to 2 November, featuring the top four from Pro Series Korea, the top four from the Japan League, and the top eight teams from BMSD 2025.
A total of 18 matches will be played over three days across Rondo, Erangel, and Miramar. The top two teams from the overall standings will qualify for the PMGC 2025.
