The WWE has been a platform creating wrestling superstars who have been entertaining the fans over the years and decades on end. WWE superstars hold the status of more than just a wrestler, they become a celebrity in front of a million eyes due to their personality in and out of the wrestling ring. Recently, one of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time announced that he will be retiring from the promotion within the next year, leaving the fans in disbelief.
It is none other than the 48-year-old Allen Neal Jones, who is popularly known as "AJ Styles" - used to rule WWE during his peak. The former two-time WWE Champion is now set to be in the wrestling ring once again against one of his great rivals, John Cena, and this matchup is expected to be the main
event of the upcoming Crown Jewel 2025 Premium Live Event (PLE) in Perth, Australia next month. Styles has put across his intentions and revealed that he plans on retiring from WWE within the next year.

Ahead of the matchup against John Cena, AJ Styles confirmed the rumors around his future in WWE. He said, as per Tokyo Sports, "I will definitely retire within the next year. I don't want the fans to see me as anyone other than AJ Styles. I don’t want to expose the ‘not-AJ-Styles version of myself’ to the fans.That's the main reason. I've decided to retire before my body can no longer move."
AJ Styles is likely to remain a part of the WWE even after his retirement. The 48-year-old has expressed his interest in working as a producer or trainer following the end of his in-ring career. However, he feels that he still has some more bouts left in his locker to perform at his highest level possible.
