Harjas Singh, the former Australia Under-19 left-handed batter, plays for the Western Suburbs side in the Sydney first grade cricket competition, a level below professional state cricket in the country.
In their recent 50-overs match against Sydney, Harjas Singh, 20, went rampant with the bat for Western Suburbs as he scored unbeaten 314 runs off just 141 balls all by himself, helping his team reach a massive 483-5 total in the Australian grade cricket scene, which led to them winning the contest by 196 runs.
The 20-year-old couldn't be contained all afternoon by Sydney as he smashed 35 sixes out of the park leaving all the by-standers watching the match in absolute shock and disbelief. Harjas also smashed 14 fours in his entire innings with absolute perfection. His 314 runs became the third highest score in the Sydney first grade cricket competition history after the likes of Victor Trumper's 335 runs and Phil Jacques's 321 runs.
That's the cleanest ball striking I've ever witnessed from myself: Harjas Singh
Reflecting upon his breath-taking performance in the match, Harjas Singh was in absolute delight during an interview with Fox Cricket, and said, "That's the cleanest ball striking I've ever witnessed from myself, for sure. It's something I'm quite proud of because I've worked in the off-season quite a bit on my power hitting, and for it to come off today was quite special." Harjas Singh reached his century in just 74 deliveries before scoring a whopping 214 more runs from the next 67 deliveries.

Singh was a part of the Under-19 Australian squad which defeated India in the World Cup final in 2024. He was the highest run-scorer for Australia that day, scoring 55 runs in the title win. However, he is still to make a debut in professional state cricket with New South Wales. It will be interesting to see how he paves his way to reach the top level of the Australian cricket and beyond.
