Bollywood superstar and co-owner of the Knight Riders’ franchise, Shah Rukh Khan took to X to heap praise on Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) after the fifth title win in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Nicholas Pooran-led TKR went on to defeat Guyana Amazon Warriors by three wickets in the final on September 22 to win the CPL 2025 title. With this, TKR also became the most successful side in the CPL with five titles to their name.
After TKR’s title win, Shah Rukh Khan shared his praise for the franchise and congratulated the team for five CPL titles. “And CPL is ours. Awesome grit and play my boys from @TKRiders. Kieron Pollard shines in Trinbago Knight Riders’ 5th CPL title win
Talking about the match, batting first Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed top scored with 30 runs off 27 balls, while for Trinbago, Saurabh Netravalkar ended up taking three wickets. Chasing the winning target, TKR kept losing wickets at regular intervals but it didn’t make much impact as they chased the target in 18 overs, losing seven wickets.
Veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been awarded Player of the Tournament for his constant performances throughout the season. The right-hander ended up scoring 383 runs from 13 matches with the bat at an average of 54.71 and a strike rate of 174.09. Pollard played a crucial role in Trinbago Knight Riders' title win.
