On Sunday, September 28, the Indian cricket team etched history as they lifted their ninth Asia Cup title, beating Pakistan for the third straight time in the continental tournament in Dubai. Coming into the final and remaining unbeaten in the group and Super Four stage, the T20 champions continued their dominance, handing Pakistan five-wicket defeat.
For the unversed, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bowl first, considering the dew factor which assists the UAE pitches. Inviting Pakistan to bat first, the Men in Green were restricted at 146/10 in 19.1 overs. Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan once again played a pivotal knock of 38-ball 57, along with a key 46 from Fakhar Zaman, but Kuldeep Yadav stole the limelight with the ball,
picking four wickets.
