Shah Rukh Khan asked to release Bangladesh player after disheartening video from Bangladesh goes viral

Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan for the last few weeks has been facing calls to remove pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 squad as attacks against Hindu continue in Bangladesh. Shah Rukh Khan has also been called an “anti-national” by Hindu spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadrachary, as the KKR owner faces criticism from religious and political leaders. Recently a video has gone viral from Bangladesh where the fans are seen shouting anti India slogans.

After a viral video showing Bangladeshi fans shouting “India f*** you” spread online, anger among Indian cricket fans has only grown. In the video a fully packed Stadium in Bangladesh can be seen chanting this in chorus. This video has gone viral on Instagram

and many are now directly targeting Shah Rukh Khan, questioning his loyalty after KKR signed the Bangladeshi player.

On social media many fans are openly saying that if Shah Rukh Khan is truly Indian, he should remove the Bangladeshi player from KKR immediately. The demand is loud, emotional, and spreading fast across platforms. It is a valid claim as most of the fans are not happy with how Hindus are being treated unfairly in Bangladesh. What started as outrage over a video has now turned into a full-blown boycott call, putting SRK and KKR under heavy public pressure.

Earlier BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh MLA Sangeet Som had also called Shah Rukh Khan a “traitor” while stating that Mustafizur will not be allowed to play in IPL 2026. Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who represents Bangladesh was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders in the auction for 9.2 Crores. He was the only Bangladesh player who was sold in the IPL auction.

After receiving plenty of backlash from fans and many leaders, the BCCI asked Kolkata to release the player and issued a statement. Mustafizur Rahman was released by KKR and now the Bangladesh Cricket Board have asked the ICC to move their WT20 matches out of India citing security issues. So things have started heating up between the two nations and it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
