score in the Women’s ODIs as India Women are heading towards a big total in the title clash against South Africa. She scored 87(78) runs putting Women in Blue in a stronger position.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, India Women got a great start as Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana put up an opening partnership of 104 runs in 17.4 overs. Mandhana got out after scoring 45 runs off 58 balls hitting eight boundaries. She ended up giving a catch to Sinalo Jafta on Chloe Tryon’s delivery in the 18th over. After that, Shafali took the innings further along with Jemimah Rodrigues.
Shafali Verma’s knock put India Women in stronger position in World Cup final
Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues added 62 runs before the fall of the second wicket. Shafali completed her fifty in 49 balls and turned out to be a great replacement for injured Pratika Rawal. Notably, Shafali wasn’t included in the original squad for the Women’s World Cup. However, she got a chance to join the squad ahead of the semi-finals as Pratika Rawal was ruled out due to injury. Now, the left-hander played a crucial knock for India in the final of a World Cup.
Shafali got out after scoring 87 runs off 78 balls hitting seven fours and two sixes. She was dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka in the 28th over of the innings. After a few overs Jemimah also got out after scoring 24 runs off 37 balls. Currently, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is taking the innings further with Deepti Sharma as India Women are aiming towards a big total in the final.
