Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen in the upcoming ODI series against Australia Down Under between October 19 and 25. Both legends will return to international cricket after seven months
and they will be expected to be at their best to help Indiabag their third ODI series victory on Aussie soil. In international cricket, Rohit and Virat are now active in ODIs only so questions have been raised on their selection for the Aussie ODI series. Former BCCI chief selector said the two icons don’t play competitive cricket often so it’s difficult for selectors to assess their fitness level and form.
Following this criticism, reports have now emerged that Rohit and Virat Kohli will be seen in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26 as BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar has encouraged the legends to participate in the domestic tournament. After the Australia series, India will play their next ODI competition against New Zealand in January 2026 at home. Before the crucial assignment, if Kohli and Rohit appear in the competition, they will get match practice which might help them to enhance their performance in the competition.
