Team Indiaopener Abhishek Sharma congratulated Komal Sharma on her wedding to the businessman Lovish Oberoi in Amritsar on October 3. The wedding was a grand event and Komal’s all family members were present except for Abhishek who couldn’t attend it as the left-handed batter was busy with national duty. As Abhishek had to serve India A against Australia A in the second unofficial ODI in Kanpur, he couldn’t accompany his sibling on her huge day. Komal expressed joy at her wedding but also missed Abhishek.
Speaking to the media, Komal remarked, “It feels amazing. This is such a great day for me, I am tying the knot today. I am very happy and excited. I am missing my brother.” In the game against Australia A, Abhishek Sharma got dismissed for a one-ball
duck. Jack Edwards got the southpaw caught at the hands of Will Sutherland.
Abhishek Sharma to be part of India’s T20I team in Australia
Abhishek Sharma’s next international assignment is in Australia, where the Men in Blue will play five T20Is between October 29 and November 8. Abhishek will be expected to continue his scintillating form. The 25-year-old looked in brilliant touch with his bat in the Asia Cup 2025. In the continental tournament, he notched up 314 runs in seven matches and ended up as the leading run-getter in the competition. He also became the player of the tournament for his stunning batting display.
However, Abhishek couldn’t make it to India’s ODI squad against Australia as the team management has inducted Yashasvi Jaiswal in the team as an extra opener. Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also been picked for the series. Rishabh Pant couldn’t make it to the side. Shubman Gill has been handed the leadership baton.
