Sanju Samson returns to T20I with a bang scores 37, Twitter Reacts

Sanju Samson made his T20I return in the fifth match of the T20I series against South Africa in Ahmedabad. Shubman Gill missed out on this match due to a niggle and Samson replaced him at the top of the order.

Samson also completed 1000 T20I runs for India with a six, while it also brought about 8000 T20 runs for the Kerala batter. Fans in twitter were buzzing about his cameo and the entire social media was full of praises for the batter.

“Sanju Samson is such terrific player. He has been out of the side for a long time and the ease of the shot is amazing. It is not easy to sit out for a long time and suddenly time the ball in the way he has done,” a commentator said while on commentary in Star Sports.

Sanju Samson has now become only the 14^th Indian player to get to 1000 T20I runs. The India batter has joined in the list of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and others.

Sanju Samson also become the 7^th Indian player to score 8000 T20 runs. The other players in the list are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suryakumar Yadav, Suresh Raina and KL Rahul. India were put into bat first by Aiden Markram after winning the toss. Abhishek Sharma started in fine fashion smashing three boundaries of Marco Jansen. Sanju Samson continued his blitz as India scored more more than 60 in the powerplay.

Sanju Samson averages over 25 and his strike rate is more 147plus from 44 innings. He owns three tons and as many fifties in T20Is. Each of his three tons came while opening the innings last year.
