Late on Sunday night, September 21, Taylor Fritz held off Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) to seal a victory for the Team World, thus helping them to their third Laver Cup title. After Fritz had earlier
stunned World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, won the final three points for his team to help them secure the title in four years in San Francisco.
After a slow start on Friday, September 19, Team World got into the rhythm and eventually sealed all four games of Saturday in their favour, collecting eight points and taking 9-3 lead. While Alex de Minaur handed Zverev an upset of the ages, Alcaraz was also stunned by Fritz, who eventually guided the side to victory with a singles match victory.

Although, Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud made a brief start with a win in the doubles match, Alcaraz continued with a dominant victory over Francisco Cerundolo in singles. But Australia's Alex de Mianur’s win over Jakub Mensik kept Team World in the hunt, and Fritz's victory got them the title.
With a victory on Sunday, Team World regained the title which they lost in Berlin last year. Notably, Team Europe have won five of the eight editions which have been held so far. The next edition of the Laver Cup will now take place in London.
