On this Day: Birth of former Australian pacer Brett Lee in 1976

Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is celebrating his 49th birthday on November 8, 2025. Widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of his time, Brett Lee was known for his swinging deliveries, which used to clock the speed of above 155 kph. The right-arm pacer is considered among the best Aussie bowlers in Test cricket with 310 wickets in 76 Test matches of his career. He was also a part of the Australian team that won the Cricket World Cup in 2003, and Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009 respectively.

Brett Lee has played 221 ODIs and 25 T20I matches for Australia, taking 408 wickets combined in the limited-overs cricket. He has also played franchise cricket for different teams including Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, New South
