How a career-ending injury turned ScoutOP from footballer to esports legend?
The 29-year-old, ScoutOP, retired BGMI esports player, recently shared an incident that forced him to switch from sports to esports. On the iQOO’s 'The Quest Talk' with Nipun Marya, Scout shared that a career-ending injury may have ended one dream, but it also paved the way for another. After his injury, he didn’t stop playing; he just changed the field.
He recalled the injury, saying, "I was about to enter the senior team in football when that injury happened, and I had to shift." Instead of quitting the competition, Scout looked for a new field and shifted from football to esports after his career-ending injury. He used his football discipline and strategies in mobile gaming.
"Pehle mummy-papa kehte the ‘padh le’, ab daant padti hai ‘practice kar le'," he revealed. What was once seen as a distraction is now a source of pride for his family and millions of fans. Scout also talked about the various other things in esports, like 2019 vs 2025 gaming, misconceptions of esports, MVPs, whether it is possible to get directly into organizations, and more.
ScoutOP started his esports journey in 2018 and officially took his retirement from BGMI esports after the BGMI Masters Series 2025. During his amazing career, he has achieved many feats, like finishing second in the PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East and second place in the PUBG Mobile Club Open -Spring Split: India with Team IND.
