On Sunday, September 28, the Pakistan cricket team suffered their third straight defeat in the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 against India. Advancing into the final of the continental tournament after four wins
from six matches, Pakistan continued their poor run of form against India as they were handed five-wicket defeat at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
However, the win for the Men in Blue got their their ninth Asia Cup title and continued their domination over the Men in Green. After the massive drubbing, the Pakistan team has been in news off late. In the wake of the same, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken stringent steps for its cricketers.
PCB suspends NOCs for overseas T20 leagues after Asia Cup 2025 debacle
Amidst this, the PCB recently suspended No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of its players to participate in T20 leagues around the world. The PCB on Tuesday, September 30 also revoked all the existing NOCs which were previously issued to the players. According to reports, the notification was issued by PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed, which stated that NOCs for participation in foreign leagues and tournaments have been put on hold with immediate effect.
Speaking of their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025, the Salman Ali Agha-led side finished in second place in the Group A standings after victories over UAE and Oman. While they qualified into the Super Fours along with India, they went on to defeat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, once again setting up the title clash against India. In the final, Pakistan went down by five-wicket margin, registering their third defeat in all three games in the tournament.
