Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was seen losing his cool at a dot ball in the clash against Lucknow Super Giants. Notably, the Indians hosted the Super Giants in the 47th clash of the IPL 2026 on Monday, May 4. The game saw former skipper of the five-time IPL winning side, Rohit Sharma, returning to action after missing a few games due to injury hiatus. Earlier during the clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12, Sharma suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to not only retire hurt from the clash but also miss the next few games in line.
However, the wait for fans and franchise got over on Monday, when Sharma stepped in on the field and played like a true leader. The 39-year-old came up with a crucial 84-run knock
off 44 deliveries with six boundaries and seven maximums to help the side chase 229 runs against Rishabh Pant and Co. This marked the first win for MI at Wankhede after four successive losses this season. A video of Sharma has been doing rounds on social media where the veteran batter could be seen getting frustrated with a dot ball bowled by Prince Yadav.

Rohit Sharma saves Mumbai Indians’ hanging playoff hopes
While the Mumbai Indians have almost been knocked out of the playoff race, they can still mathematically qualify for the contention. However, despite the fading hopes, Sharma walked in at the Wankhede and played like he truly owns the place. And he does! Chasing a whopping 229 at the turf of Wankhede, Sharma went all out from the start and put the pressure on the LSG bowlers. The former Indian skipper maximized the powerplay and made sure that his team was well ahead in the chase.
He partnered with Ryan Rickelton, who himself came up with a red-hot 32-ball 83, and stitched a 65-ball 143 run partnership to guide the side home. While Sharma is moving towards the end of his career, it seems like that is a lot of Hitman left in him, and he is here to prove it.
